1990 - 1999

The 1990s began with an exciting event, the marking of Allison Transmission's 75th anniversary. (Below Left) An M1A1 Abrams tank thrilled hundreds of onlookers during the 75th Anniversary celebration. Allison Transmission employee Beatrice Drics developed the 75th Anniversary logo. (Below Right) The logo was chosen from 155 entries in the Division's logo contest.

At Allison Transmission, the 1990s were bookended by two significant product introductions: the launch of the World Transmission in 1991 and the beginning of production of the 1000 Series™ and 2000 Series™ in 1999. With this latter milestone, the 1000 Series™ and 2000 Series™ became poised to bring Allison Transmission's tradition of quality, durability and functionality to a new class of commercial trucks.
