The 1990s began with an exciting event, the marking of Allison Transmission's 75^th anniversary. (Below Left) An M1A1 Abrams tank thrilled hundreds of onlookers during the 75^th Anniversary celebration. Allison Transmission employee Beatrice Drics developed the 75^th Anniversary logo. (Below Right) The logo was chosen from 155 entries in the Division's logo contest.

At Allison Transmission, the 1990s were bookended by two significant product introductions: the launch of the World Transmission in 1991 and the beginning of production of the 1000 Series™ and 2000 Series™ in 1999. With this latter milestone, the 1000 Series™ and 2000 Series™ became poised to bring Allison Transmission's tradition of quality, durability and functionality to a new class of commercial trucks.

To meet the anticipated high demand for the product, the division built a new 300,000-square-foot facility in Indianapolis, which it dedicated on June 4, 1999.
