Allison Expands MH Series Motorhome Transmission Family

April 3, 2001 - Oklahoma City - Since introduction to the market more than a year ago, Allison Transmission's 3000 MH and 4000 MH Series automatic transmissions have delivered proven superior performance, convenience and reliability in motorhomes. Allison has now expanded its motorhome transmission family to include the new 2000 MH Series.

Like the 3000 MH and 4000 MH Series, Allison's 5-speed, electronically controlled 2000 MH Series is specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of today's large motorhomes. Designed for motorhomes up to 28,000 lbs. GVW, the 2000 MH Series offers faster acceleration, higher speed on grades, more responsive performance in traffic and shorter trip times.

"The 2000 MH Series brings the impressive functionality and performance of Allison's new 2000 SeriesTM transmissions to motorhomes," said Lynn Gibboney, manager of Tactical Marketing for Allison Transmission. "The 2000 MH delivers to motorhomes the benefits of quicker acceleration, more speed and better overall performance. The superior performances of these transmissions also ensures greater safety by decreasing merging distance when entering highways and enabling drivers to pay full attention to steering."

The MH Series family delivers the power, increased horsepower and torque ratings that today's large vehicles require-and owners want. Able to handle the higher outputs of today's powerful engines and the rigors of extended travel, the MH Series also makes maintenance quick and easy. This minimizes downtime and improves motorhome life cycle value.

Convenience is also a key benefit of Allison's MH Series. The 3000/4000 MH Series features a shift-selector display that allows drivers to check transmission fluid levels from the comfort of the driver's seat. The transmissions feature electronic controls to assure efficient operation in all kinds of terrain and traffic conditions. A microprocessor monitors engine rpm and adjusts shifts to maximize performance and lower fuel consumption. The 3000/4000 MH Series is equipped with advanced on-board diagnostics to easily and accurately identify problems and store codes for easy diagnosis. An optional retarder for the 3000/4000 MH Series delivers auxiliary braking on steep grades and helps reduce break wear.

The 2000 MH Series carries a three-year warranty as standard. The 3000/4000 MH Series, which carries a five-year warranty as standard, gives the motorhome user even greater peace of mind.
