Allison Transmission Introduces Allison DOC(TM) For Fleets
 
January 29, 2003 - Indianapolis, Indiana - Allison Transmission has introduced Allison DOCTM For Fleets (Diagnostic Optimized Connection) (1000/2000 SeriesTM) and Allison DOCTM For Fleets (WTEC) PC-based diagnostic applications. Allison DOCTM For Fleets provides basic diagnostic capabilities for truck fleets, including regional fleets, OEM truck dealers, municipalities, and those who use or service Allison Transmissions. There are now two versions of Allison DOCTM For Fleets. Allison DOCTM For Fleets (WTEC) is for use with the MD 3000 Series, HD 4000 Series, and B Series product line using WTEC II and WTEC III. Allison DOCTM For Fleets (1000/2000 SeriesTM) is for use with 1000/2000/2400 SeriesTM transmissions using the 1000/2000/2400 SeriesTM Transmission Control Module (TCM). Allison DOCTM For Fleets (WTEC) and Allison DOCTM For Fleets (1000/2000 SeriesTM) applications are separate software products (separate installations and software builds). Each product provides a transmission controller-specific subset of functionality available in the Allison DOCTM For PC product. Specific features of Allison DOCTM For Fleets include:

  • User selected views of multiple transmission parameters

  • Support for record/playback/e-mail of data logs

  • Diagnostics with links to support information

  • A Windows® style graphical user interface

  • Interpretation of J1939/J1850 protocol for 1000/2000/2400 SeriesTM or J1587/J1708 for the MD 3000 Series, HD 4000 Series, and B Series product line

  • Training Videos included with application

  • Automated application update capability via the World Wide Web

  • Integrated "Help" function

  • Animated introduction screen

  • Security - application authorization

  • RP1210A compliance

  • Compliance with applicable Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Recommended Practices, General Motors (GM) Online Standards, Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Standards, and CE Standards

  • Provisions for supporting site licensing

  • Standard Windows based installation process

  • View Active and Historical Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)

  • User configurable Snapshot function

  • User configurable Print function

  • Code driven hotlinks to embedded WTEC II, WTEC III, and 1000/2000/2400 SeriesTM Troubleshooting Manuals

  • Demo Mode which allows the user to practice using the program without being connected to a vehicle

  • Application Configuration: This menu function serves as the platform for three different utilities (available for the MD 3000 Series, HD 4000 Series, and B Series product line and 1000/2000/2400 SeriesTM product line.) This function includes an Update Application tab that will launch the user's resident browser to access a web URL that will contain future minor updates for Allison DOCTM For Fleets.

Allison DOCTM For Fleets (1000/2000 SeriesTM) and Allison DOCTM For Fleets (WTEC) is designed to operate on PCs with the following configurations:

  • Microsoft Windows 95®, Windows 98®, Windows NT® (SP3 or higher), Windows 2000®, Windows ME® or Windows XP®

  • 60 Mb free hard drive disk space (350 Mb if training videos are installed on the user's PC. Training videos can also be viewed from the Allison DOCTM For Fleets installation CD)

  • 64 Mb of RAM (128 Mb for optimal performance)

    Pentium II processor (Pentium III processor for optimal performance)

  • One available COM port or parallel port (both for optimal performance)

  • 1024 X 786 screen resolution

  • 256 color palette (set to small fonts)

  • A media player program (Windows® Media Player® 7.0 is provided on the Allison DOCTM For Fleets CD)
