Allison Demonstrates Products During World Police & Fire Games

June 29, 2001 - Indianapolis, IN - Showcasing peak performance: that was the mission of the World Police and Fire Games when it was held in Indianapolis in June. When Allison Transmission, a sponsor of the event, hosted a "Ride Experience" to demonstrate its products during the event, games participants got a chance to see peak performance of another kind: that of Allison Automatics.

As world-class police and fire professionals gathered to experience first-hand the full functionality of Allison transmissions, it was clearly a case of "the best of the best" meeting "the best of the best."

Participants in the Allison event directly experienced the benefits of fully automatic transmissions in demanding on-and off-road fire and emergency vehicle applications.

"This event was a wonderful opportunity to prove the advantages of Allison automatic transmissions to international professionals who expect and demand top performance from their equipment," said Lynn Gibboney, Allison Transmission marketing manager.

The lineup of vehicles for the Allison transmission demonstration reflected the Allison's diverse product portfolio. The variety of the participation of Allison OEMs, including Spartan, Pierce, International, LaFrance and Freightliner-also joined by local fire departments-also showcased the breadth of the Allison customer base.

A major supporter of the World Police & Fire Games, Allison has long recognized the importance of demonstrating the full capability and value of Allison products in demanding "real world" settings. "This test track experience helped customers appreciate the role fully automatic transmissions play in helping emergency responders better perform their life-saving missions," said Gibboney.

Allison Transmission is the world's leading designer, manufacturer and seller of medium- and heavy-duty automatic transmissions for trucks, buses, off-road and military vehicles and RVs.
