| Allison Transmission Introduces Allison DOC(TM) For PC Version 3.0 Diagnostic Tool |

Allison Transmission has introduced Allison DOCTM For PC Version 3.0, a full feature diagnostic software application supporting control systems for the Allison MD 3000 Series/HD 4000 Series/B Series product lines, 1000/2000/2400 SeriesTM, and CEC2 Off-Highway transmissions. This new diagnostic tool includes several improvements and modifications that provide the user with an efficient and more comprehensive diagnostic tool. The Allison DOCTM For PC diagnostic tool enables a technician to quickly and easily access diagnostic data from the transmission control system and conduct systematic troubleshooting of transmission problems through the use of embedded troubleshooting manuals. By simply double-clicking on a transmission diagnostic code displayed on an Allison DOCTM For PC computer screen, the technician is transported to the specific location in the ATD Troubleshooting Manual to begin the repair process. The embedded troubleshooting manuals of Allison DOCTM For PC, complete with graphics, are also easily accessible for reference without using the code driven hyperlinks. An Allison-owned diagnostic tool, Allison DOCTM For PC frees the technician from carrying separate troubleshooting manuals, saves time, and improves diagnostic accuracy by helping automate the diagnostic routine. The tool's graphical user interface uses a world standard Windows? "look and feel" and is supported by a wide range of navigational options to simplify the diagnostic function: whether technicians are working alongside a vehicle in a shop or riding in a truck, Allison DOCTM For PC Version 3.0 adds capability to Allison's diagnostic tool by enabling users to receive select program updates by connecting via the internet to a tool update server. Allison DOCTM Version 3.0 For PC Version 2.0 also offers a Data Bus Viewer that allows the user to capture, view, and save raw data transmitted on the vehicle bus when diagnosing Allison transmissions. Specific features of Allison DOCTM For PC Version 3.0 include: User selected views of multiple transmission parameters View Active and Historical Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) Graphical instrument panel view of transmission parameters Strip chart function User configurable Snapshot function User configurable Print function Code driven hotlinks to embedded WTEC II, WTEC III, 1000/2000/2400 SeriesTM and CEC2 Off-Highway Troubleshooting Manuals Reprogramming capability (available after satisfying Allison Transmission training certification requirements) Demo Mode which allows the user to navigate through the application without being connected to a vehicle New animated, screen by screen, help support (Found in Help | Video-based Training Material | Allison DOCTM Training Videos) Application Configuration: This menu function serves as the platform for three different utilities (available for both MD/HD product line, the 1000/2000/2400 SeriesTM, and CEC2 Off-Highway Transmissions). This function includes an Update Application tab that will launch the user's resident browser to access a web URL that will contain future minor updates for Allison DOCTMFor PC Data Bus Viewer: this feature allows you to capture (see and save) the raw data transmitted on the various vehicle data buses supported by Allison DOCTM For PC (J1708, J1939, and J1850). This function is intended for engineering interpretation only. This data is not captured in the Snapshots. Printed User's Manual and laminated Job Aid Card Adobe? Acrobat? 5.0 bundled on the CD for reading the Troubleshooting Manual Microsoft? Media Player? 6.4 and 7.0 bundled on the CD for displaying various and updated training videos (available from the application Help menu). Allison DOCTM For PC Version 3.0 is designed to operate on PCs with the following configurations: - Microsoft? Windows 95?, Windows 98?, Windows NT? (SP3 or higher), Windows 2000?, Windows ME?, and Windows XP? (Home) and XP? (Professional).
