Allison Transmission to unveil new Off-Highway Series model, highlight new applications with leading OEMs at Bauma 2016

Allison to introduce 6630ORS, specified for largest 55-ton-capacity articulated dump truck, Bell moves its B40E and B45E to the Allison 7-speed 4700ORS transmission –plus MAN TGS mining truck with 4500 model transmission to be on display

MUNICH – Allison Transmission will introduce the 6630ORS, its newest Off-Highway Series™ model, and will highlight new applications with Bell Equipment at Bauma 2016 in Munich, April 11-17. Details will be shared during Allison’s press conference on April 12.

The 6630ORS fully automatic transmission is an evolution in the 6000 Off-Highway Series, offering increased durability and performance. It contains a new internal damper and updated torque converter turbine with improved vane geometry and anodized surface treatment.

Responding to growing customer demand for articulated haulers with larger payloads, a 55-ton-capacity articulated dump has been developed incorporating the Allison 6630ORS and will be on display at Bauma 2016. Renowned worldwide for working hard over a long service life with minimum downtime and high productivity, Allison transmissions are an ideal match for vehicles in this demanding application.

Additionally, Bell Equipment (Hall B5, Stand 148) will be showcasing its first B45E with an Allison 4700ORS model, which along with its B40E and B50E models, will be moving from a 6-speed to the 7-speed transmission. This brings improved gradeability due to the deep first range and smaller ratio steps, resulting in even better performance and fuel efficiency. Bell will also present the new B60E articulated dump truck with the Allison 4800ORS model and B30E with the Allison 3500ORS with retarder.

Allison’s booth (Hall A4, Stand 408) will feature a MAN TGS 40.480 60W 6x6 mining truck with a 4500 model transmission, which was built for a construction end-user in Russia.

Bauma 2016 attendees will have the opportunity to see a number of Allison-equipped vehicles on display. Among these trucks are a Terex TR70 rigid hauler with the Allison 6620ORS and TA400 articulated hauler with the Allison 4500ORS (Hall FM, Booth 514). Additionally, KH Kipper (Hall FN, Booth 919/4) is displaying a MAN TGS 40.480 60W 6x6 with mining body and an Allison 4500 model transmission
