Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool v7.3.0 Internet-Update - Now available for download!!
The Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool v7.3.0 internet-update is a "no-charge" internet download available to all users of Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool v7.0.0. Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool v7.3.0 includes new features and enhancements which provide the technician with the most comprehensive diagnostic tool to date. Please refer to SIL 8-TR-08 on the Allison Transmission Extranet for the complete list of new features/enhancements and more information.
Some of these new features include the following:
Support for new transmission parameters (data/information) recently added to the Allison 4th Generation Controls system for MY09 (model year 2009)
- Peak Torque from Advertised Engine Torque Curve (AETC) message
- Engine Torque Rating for overrating fault
- Engine Torque Rating for SEM/LRTP requirement
- Overall Gear Requested
- Customized Datalink
New Prognostic/Diagnostic display for MY09 TCMs (or later) with Allison 4th Generation Controls
- This new screen displays oil, filter, and transmission health service indicators
- New Action Requests have also been added for 'resetting' the following: Service Indicator Lamp Test, oil, filter (1000/2000 Product Family only), and transmission health monitor
- New Prognostic CMCs to enable/disable Prognostic Package

Dearborn DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device Kits - Now Available for Purchase!
The Dearborn DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device Kit (SPX P/N: J-47943-A) is now available for purchase from SPX Service Solutions (SPX/Kent-Moore). The new DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device Kit supersedes the current Dearborn DPA4 USB Translator Device Kit (SPX P/N: J-47943) and becomes the Essential-rated tool for the Allison Service Channel. Please refer to SIL 5-TR-08 on the Allison Transmission Extranet for more information.
The new DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device Kit will be similar to the previous DPA4 USB Translator Device Kit but will include numerous enhancements (see the following):
- Enhanced Data Processing Capability: The DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device unit contains a faster processor for quicker data processing performance.
- Additional Protocol Support: In addition to the continued support of J1587/J1708, J1939 (CAN), and GMLAN/J2284 (CAN) communication network protocols, the DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device will include J1850 (Class II) vehicle communications functionality previously only supported by the SPX P/N: J-44652-A - J1850-VPW Translator Device.
- Enhanced USB Cable: A new USB Cable will be included within the DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device Kit that is (10) feet in length and includes a USB connector with thumb-screws for securing (latching) the USB Cable to the DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device unit (thus preventing unintentional disconnects while working in a service environment).
- Protective Boots: The DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device unit will include rubber boots (bumpers) on each end of the translator device for finish protection and 'scratch-proof' mounting on tool boxes, service carts, etc.
NOTE: Current Allison Service Channel (Allison Distributors and Dealers) users of the DPA4 USB Translator Device Kit are not required to purchase the new DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device Kit (J-47943-A) to replace their existing DPA4 USB Translator Device Kit (J-47943). However, any new purchase of the DPA4 USB Translator Device Kit (SPX P/N: J-47943) from SPX Service Solutions will be superseded to the DPA4 Plus USB Translator Device Kit (SPX P/N: J-47943-A). In the near future, current users of the DPA4 USB Translator Device Kit will have the option of having their DPA4 USB Translator Device unit upgraded to a DPA4 Plus Translator Device unit (details will be provided at a later time). Allison DOCTM For Fleets (1000/2000) v3.0 and Allison DOCTM For Fleets (3000/4000) v3.0 are now available for purchase from SPX/Kent-Moore. Some of these new features include:
Includes a new function called TRANSHEALTHTM Monitor that allows users (regardless of their reprogramming authorization status) to obtain a general transmission clutch condition. Refer to the Help Topics in the Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool User Guide (located at ...\Allison Transmission\Allison DOC For PC-Service Tool\DOCS), for more information on this new feature.
Reorganized functions and screen accessibility for easier navigation
Snapshot storage Improvements: Snapshot files are now saved with *.ad file extensions instead of *.zip (example: test123.ad). Users are no longer required to rename Snapshot files when sending via e-mail. In addition, Snapshot files will now capture translator device information and the version number of the Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool application.
NOTE #1: The 'DPA Installation (Ver. 1.06)' CD included with the DPA4 USB translator device installs the DG121032 drivers which are not used with Allison Transmission service tools. Please do not install the 'DPA Installation (Ver. 1.06)' CD for Allison Transmission service tools. The DPA4 USB hardware supports multiple drivers for a number of applications. The two most common drivers are the DG121032 and the DR121032 drivers. Allison Transmission Service Tools (i.e. Allison DOC™ For PC – Service Tool) only support the DR121032 drivers. The DR121032 drivers are automatically installed during the installation of Allison DOC™ For PC – Service Tool.

Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool v7.0.0
The Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool v7.0.0 (SPX P/N: J-44950-UPD7 - Existing User, SPX P/N: J-44950-H - New User) was shipped to the Allison Service Channel via Essential Tool Distribution in September 2006. The Service Tool is compatible with 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 Transmissions utilizing Allison 4th Generation Controls. In addition, Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool v7.0.0 is backward compatible with all other electronically controlled, commercial transmissions (excluding the EP 40/50 SystemTM). Please refer to SIL 12-TR-07 on the Allison Transmission Extranet for more information.
Notice to OEMs and Body Builders: The Pro-Link® diagnostic tool will not be compatible to transmissions that utilize Allison 4th Generation Controls. The Allison 4th Generation Controls system requires Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool v5.0.0 for diagnostics and reprogramming (i.e. modifying CMCs). Allison DOCTM For PC (AED) v3.0
Allison DOCTM For PC (AED) v3.0 (SPX P/N: J-46995-UPD1 - Existing User, SPX P/N: J-46995-B - New User) was shipped to the Allison Service Channel via Essential Tool Distribution in late November 2007. Allison DOCTM For PC (AED) v3.0 is compatible with the EP 40/50 SystemTM. As a note, Allison DOCTM For PC (AED) v3.0 is a separate, standalone application (not part of Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool v7.0.0). Refer to SIL 27-EP-07 on the Allison Transmission Extranet for a summary of the new features and enhancements.
Please note that Windows® Vista® is not compatible with the Softing CANusb and the V5.10 Softing Driver is not compatible with the CANusb.

Allison DOCTM For Fleets
Also available is Allison DOCTM For Fleets, a functional subset of the Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool. Allison DOCTM For Fleets does not include ECU/TCM Reprogramming, Strip Chart, Action Request Items, Graphics Monitor and a few other items found specifically for the Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool. While Allison DOCTM For PC-Service Tool was created to be the "essential-rated" diagnostic tool for the Allison Transmission Service Channel providing comprehensive diagnostics and reprogramming capabilities for the technician, Allison DOCTM For Fleets is target for truck fleets, municipalities, and/or anyone else who has an interest in fundamental diagnostics for Allison electronically controlled transmissions. Two versions of Allison DOCTM For Fleets are available, Allison DOCTM For Fleets (1000/2000) v3.0 and Allison DOCTM For Fleets (3000/4000) v3.0.
