Grand Toro, the New Model of Anadolu Isuzu, is on the Road with the Comfort of an Allison Automatic

Grand Toro, the next generation vehicle of Anadolu Isuzu, sets out with Allison fully automatic transmission option. The Grand Toro provides superior comfort for passengers and offers high efficiency and savings in the midi-bus segment,

ISTANBUL, Turkey, February 2021 – The Grand Toro model, developed by Anadolu Isuzu in line with the requirements of personnel and tourism transportation services in Turkish and European markets, makes all the difference in the 8.5-meters midi-bus segment. Grand Toro is available with the Allison T3270R xFETM fully automatic transmission equipped with integral retarder.

“Our long-standing cooperation with Anadolu Isuzu increasingly continues with the new 8.5m tourism type midi-bus Grand Toro. Midi-bus segment vehicles can be used for all purposes thanks to their superior maneuverability in narrow streets, slopes and historical areas where buses hardly move and also offer superior comfort for passengers on long trips. In line with the enhanced features of Grand Toro, we believe that the Allison T3270R xFE fully automatic transmission with integral retarder option will be in demand in both domestic and international markets thanks to Allison’s proven success in the midi-bus segment” said Meltem Darakcı, Sales Manager of Allison Transmission Turkey.

Grand Toro, which has a length of 8.5 meters, passenger capacity of 35 people and equipped with a Cummins ISB Euro 6 engine that can produce 210 hp and 850 Nm/torque, is available with the six-speed Allison T3270R xFE fully automatic transmission with integral retarder.

Thanks to the hydraulic torque converter, Allison’s fully automatic transmissions contribute to both maximizing the driver’s and passengers’ comfort through smooth shifting and reducing maintenance costs, which is one of the significant expense items of tourism and personnel transportation. Adopting torque converters instead of a mechanical clutch system, costly and time-consuming clutch repairs and replacements are eliminated. Periodical oil and filter replacements are sufficient for Allison’s fully automatic transmission maintenance. Thus, it results in reduced downtime and maintenance costs. The integral hydraulic retarder system can safely slow down the vehicle when required and increases lifetime of the brake lining and disc, which is a significant expense item, on roads with uphill and downhill grades.

Additionally, the Allison T3270R xFE improves travel comfort in start-stop traffic in cities thanks to its smooth shifting. Control of the vehicle is improved by the integral retarder system. Moreover, the driver can focus on the road ahead without being distracted during shifting.

Allison’s xFE transmissions feature the latest advances in fuel-saving technology. Incorporating optimized gear ratios coupled with the FuelSense® Max package, xFE transmissions have been designed to deliver significantly more lock-up operations and operate at lower engine speeds in long distances for further fuel economy. Thanks to xFE technology, they improve fuel efficiency by realizing smooth shifting in the most efficient speed range. xFE technology improves fuel economy with the neutral-at-stop feature by automatically shifting to neutral when the vehicle is stopped.

Allison's torque converter smoothly increases engine torque and transmits more power to the wheels. Allison's patented Continuous Power Technology™ offers superior acceleration and high maneuverability through smooth full-power shifts.

Grand Toro, the new midi-bus model of Anadolu Isuzu, has already started its European tour as part of its launch activities. The Grand Toro model will be introduced to fleet owners and drivers in many European countries. Local launches and test drives will be organized with the tour program, which is planned to continue until June 2021.
