Allison Transmission to Showcase its Oil Field Series™ (OFS) at the 21st CIPPE Show

Dedicated to the oil field equipment industry, Allison will offer its highly acclaimed Allison 9832 Oil Field Series™ transmission

BEIJING, May 19, 2021 – Allison Transmission will attend the 21st China International Petroleum and Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (CIPPE) from June 8-10, 2021, in Beijing, China. Allison will exhibit its highly acclaimed Allison 9832 Oil Field Series™ (OFS) transmission dedicated to oil field equipment together with other popular off-highway models.

Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of conventional and electrified vehicle propulsion solutions and the largest global manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty fully automatic transmissions for commercial vehicles. Allison is offering a wide range of reliable oil field transmissions with Power Continuous Shifting. The OFS series by Allison is characterized not only by its greater power and input torque, but also its advanced technology and design. Its proven reliability, durability and higher efficiency provide an ultimate solution for end users looking for improved efficiency and productivity with their oil field equipment.

Fracturing trucks are primarily used for shale oil and gas recovery. However, poor road conditions and mountainous terrain often limit the size and amount of equipment that can be transported to a work site. In addition, shale oil and gas deposits are often found at greater depths in China, requiring more pressure for extraction.

“Since 2015, Jereh has started producing fracturing trucks equipped with Allison 9832 OFS continuous power shift transmissions for our oil field clients both at home and abroad. Our trucks are built for the most challenging working conditions in the oilfields. The high power, light weight and small size of the Allison 9832 OFS transmission suits perfectly the truck’s compact dimensions and this give us an edge to stay ahead of the industry” said Lv Liang, the Vice Chief Engineer of Yantai Jereh Petroleum Equipment & Technologies Co., Ltd.

The 9832 OFS is built specifically for fracturing applications in oil fields. With an input power of up to 3,200hp (2386 kW), it has up to eight power shifts. Allison’s Continuous Power Technology™ with its patented hydraulic torque converter will continuously transmit power from the engine to the output without any power interruption. The compact size of the 9832 OFS provides a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio as it is up to 44% lighter than the competition.

“Our fracturing trucks also feature smart operation and digital applications which greatly boost its maneuverability and pumping efficiency. As a key component, an Allison transmission can be easily integrated into the truck’s intelligent system with its advanced electronic control unit,” said Lv Liang.

Allison’s OFS series features 5th Generation Electronic Controls that meet the specific needs for intelligent applications in the oil field industry. The advanced prognostics and diagnostics monitoring oil levels and filter conditions help to protect the transmission. In addition, engine-driven power take-off (PTO) provision, Shift Energy Management (SEM) and integral retarder are available as options and can be easily integrated to achieve the desired performance and equipment efficiency while meeting cost budgets set by end-users.
