INDIANAPOLIS, May 25, 2021 – Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of vehicle propulsion solutions for commercial and defense vehicles, the largest global manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty fully automatic transmissions, and a leader in electrified propulsion systems, was presented the Legacy Award from the American Lung Association in Indiana at its annual Evening of Promise Gala, held at Victory Field in Indianapolis on Saturday. Allison was honored for its efforts to create a healthy work environment for its employees and for the company’s focus on producing innovative solutions that promote lung health.

Allison is a member of the Environmental Stewardship Program, designed to recognize and reward Indiana regulated entities for going above and beyond current environmental regulations. In addition, Allison is an active member and supporter of the Partners for Pollution Prevention initiative and Indiana Earth Day. The company’s employee wellness program provides resources for smoking cessation, cardiovascular programs, and other wellness screenings to support employees in living a healthy lifestyle.
