Allison will showcase its initiatives in firefighting and emergency services at SICUR, including information on the latest municipal acquisitions and Allison’s electrification portfolio

MADRID, 2 February, 2022 - Allison Transmission is pleased to announce its presence at the SICUR trade fair at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid from February 22 to 25, where the company will receive visitors at Stand 8E26 and share information on its new initiatives in firefighting and emergency services, including information on Allison’s new electric axle, eGen Power™. Because of their agility, speed and enhanced control Allison fully automatic transmissions are the preferred choice for fire departments in Spain and around the globe. Cities such as Madrid, Burgos and Alicante have recently acquired vehicles that enable them to enjoy the benefits of Allison.

SICUR, a biennial international trade fair for the safety and firefighting sector, brings together professionals, trade associations and users from both public and private sectors. In addition to other areas, this leading exhibition focuses on new products and developments in the firefighting and emergency sector, a field in which Allison Transmission sets the standard.

A Renault Trucks d 2.1 280.18 R 4x2 E6 crew cab heavy-duty fire truck, specially designed for urban and industrial fires, will be on display at the Incipresa stand (Stand 8D01). The truck is equipped with an Allison 3200 fully automatic transmission and features an integrated output retarder for improved braking and reduced brake wear. Incipresa is responsible for the bodywork and delivery of the vehicle to the Alcorcón Fire Department. The vehicle has a water capacity of 3500 liters and a foam capacity of over 100 liters. A body width of 2400 mm makes it the narrowest vehicle on the market, greatly improving accessibility in urban areas and giving it a significant competitive advantage.

Allison provides guaranteed reliability for firefighting services
The many benefits of the Allison 3000 Series™ fully automatic transmissions mean that they are widely marketed in the emergency services sector. The Burgos Fire Department recently took delivery of a MAN 4x4 TGM 320HP truck equipped with an Allison 3000 Series™ transmission.

The advantages of an Allison fully automatic transmission will enable this vehicle to be used for a number of demanding missions, including road, rail and air accidents, as well as high-risk chemical and electrical emergencies. The Burgos Fire Department currently has a fleet of 10 trucks, six of which are equipped with Allison fully automatic transmissions. Moreover, the department is awaiting delivery of an Iveco Magirus heavy duty rural fire truck later this year, which will also be equipped with an Allison. According to the Burgos Fire Department, forthcoming vehicles will feature automatic transmissions with torque converters.

The Alicante Municipal Fire Department has augmented its fleet with a new urban light-duty fire truck mounted on an Iveco EuroCargo 140E28 chassis and fitted with an Allison 3000R fully automatic transmission. This vehicle stands out for its high performance-to-weight ratio and maneuverability in tight urban environments. The Alicante Fire Department confirmed that its previous experience with Allison transmissions in Mercedes Atego trucks has been positive and indicated that the department is likely to invite tenders for additional vehicles featuring automatic transmissions with torque converters in the future.

Both of these fire departments are extremely satisfied with the performance of these vehicles and their Allison fully automatic transmissions.
