Indianapolis, April 2019 – Allison Transmission, führender Hersteller von Antriebslösungen für mittelschwere und schwere Nutzfahrzeuge, stellte auf der Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, Long Beach, Kalifornien, die neue AXE-Serie vor. AXE ist weltweit eines der leistungsfähigsten E-Achs-Systeme für mittelschwere und schwere Lastwagen. Bei der AXE-Baureihe handelt es sich um ein vollständig integriertes elektrisches Antriebsstrangsystem, das in einen Standardrahmen entlang der Achsen von Lastkraftwagen passt. Die AXE-Serie bietet eine komplette Antriebsstranglösung: Sie umfasst Elektromotoren, ein 2-Gang-Getriebe, Ölkühler, Pumpen und die Leistungselektronik.

Die Allison AXE-Serie, ein Finalist des Automotive News PACE Award 2019, wurde für eine Lebensdauer von bis zu einer Million Meilen (je nach Anwendungstyp) für mittelschwere und schwere Lkw konzipiert. Das System integriert einen oder zwei Hochgeschwindigkeits-Elektromotoren und ein Mehrganggetriebe, so dass keine zusätzlichen Antriebswellen und unterstützenden Halterungen erforderlich sind. Die zweimotorige Ausführung hat eine Dauerleistung von 536 PS (400 Kilowatt) und eine Spitzenausgangsleistung von 738 PS (550 Kilowatt). Für diese Fahrzeuge ist auch eine Tandem-Achskonfiguration verfügbar. Das System bewältigt beim regenerativen Bremsen ein Drehmoment von bis zu 100 Prozent. Die vollständige Integration der AXE-Serie bietet eine verbesserte Effizienz und eine herausragende kontinuierliche Kraftübertragung durch eine hervorragende interne Kühlung.
Die AXE-Serie ist als Einzel- und Zweimotorenoption erhältlich, um den gesamten elektrischen Antriebsstrang in einem Standardrahmen zu verpacken, der in fast allen kommerziellen Lastkraftwagen weltweit vorhanden ist, einschließlich Müllwagen, Schulbusse sowie Liefer-Fahrzeuge. Die AXE-Serie wurde als voll integrierbare Einbaulösung konzipiert und erlaubt dadurch eine effiziente Installation.
