Dennis Eagle enhances efficiency with Allison FuelSense® 2.0 Max

WARWICK, UK – All new Dennis Eagle chassis to roll off the production line now benefit from the addition of Allison Transmission’s FuelSense® 2.0 Max technology, an innovative package of features designed to help customers maximise vehicle performance and efficiency.

The technology offers potential fuel savings of around six per cent against the demanding duty-cycles and stop-start nature of refuse collection applications, and builds on the proven performance of Allison’s FuelSense® technology to offer even greater precision when it comes to balancing fuel economy and performance.

New DynActive™ Shifting uses an algorithm to choose the most efficient shift points from an infinite number of combinations based on customer specifications and engine fuel map, as well as vehicle and environmental parameters, while improved Neutral at Stop reduces the load on the engine during low-speed coasting, as well as when the vehicle is stationary, for further fuel savings.

In addition, enhanced Acceleration Rate Management helps to mitigate aggressive driving by automatically controlling engine torque, with five levels of control. Newly updated and exclusive to FuelSense® 2.0 Max, there is also the option to limit vehicle acceleration to a customised calibrated rate for more precise control.

As well as being available as standard on all new chassis, the technology can also be retrofitted to older models via Dennis Eagle or Allison’s approved aftermarket network.
