eGen Flex®

Based on our proven history with electric hybrid propulsion solutions in transit, eGen Flex® is our latest electric hybrid solution offering full EV capability for zero-emission zones.

eGen Power®

eGen Power® includes our fully electric e-Axles for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles up to 28,660 lbs. GAWR, with a multi-speed gearbox and up to 650 kW of peak power.

Commercial production of the H 40/50 EP™ electric hybrid system commenced at a dedicated hybrid factory in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Orders received from over 190 North America transit and coach bus operators, and the rate of sales increased as word spread of the technology’s fuel efficiency and dependability.
Exports began with electric hybrid propulsion systems to Solaris for integration in their Urbino articulated buses in Europe.
The first significant order for buses with our H 50 EP™ electric hybrid system was made by the public transport operator in Hanover, Germany.
In recognition of our market-leading technologies, President Barack Obama visited Allison’s Indianapolis headquarters to acknowledge 15 million gallons of fuel saved as a result of 3,800 Allison electric hybrid equipped buses in service.
Increased Accessory Power feature launched with H 40/50 EP™ electric hybrid solution, enabling fleets to power accessories such as air conditioning and heat with clean, quiet, and efficient full electric power, reducing emissions and maintenance costs.
Allison’s leading position as an innovator in electric propulsion technology was strengthened further by acquiring the electric vehicle systems division of U.S.- based AxleTech and U.K.- based Vantage Power.
Allison further affirmed its commitment to innovation by introducing the eGen Flex® electric hybrid propulsion system, offering full EV operation. IndyGo and Gillig agree to be the lead transit agency and OEM, respectively, to adopt the technology.
Allison receives first orders from OEMs for its eGen Power® e-Axles.
